ODDS AND ENDS
Stay Hydrated. Wear Sunscreen. Do both no matter what the weather is like!
This page consist of topics you may want to familiarize yourself about attending a big event. Especially if you are going for the first time. We hope that this will help you to know what to expect when you get to the race. Always, if you have any questions, or need assistance, if you can't find someone from our track, please don't hesitate to ask any of the event staff members and they will be happy to assist you.
PLEASE REMEMBER: DRINK LOTS OF WATER, EVEN WITH OTHER TYPES OF BEVERAGES
PRACTICES: Practices are always hectic. Never leave your children to fend for themselves unless the child is over the age of 10 or has done this before. Expect a lot of jostling and waiting. Kids with parents are treated better than others. Watch out and take care of the little ones around you. Practice times are run by age groups so watch for timing.

MOTOs: Motos run from the oldest racers to the youngest riders. You'll go through three sets of races just like at our local track. After three races, the top four riders from each moto will transfer to the next round. Then it becomes a single eliminations - top four transfer - until you get down to eight racers and the main. Even if you don't think you made it to the next round, always check the moto board. Someone may have been disqualified. During single race eliminations, stay at the track area. Races go fast!
STAGING: Staging generally holds twenty motos. Therefore, if you are in moto 56, you should be in the staging area no later the moto 26. You'd be surprised how many riders miss their motos. Go to the bathroom just before entering the staging area - whether you think you have to or not. You may be waiting in the staging area for more than an hour - particularly if there is an accident on the track. Take a bottle of water/Gatorade in with you. Always pay attention to the stager(s), they are there to assist in a smooth organized start. When it is your time to race, make sure all of your equipment is properly worn and displayed to prevent any delays.
PRE REGISTER: Always Pre register. It will save you money! There are a lot of people at the NBL trailer Friday nights and Saturday mornings. But if you do have to register at the race, wait until the last hour of Friday night or be at the NBL trailer 30 minutes before it opens on Saturday morning. Otherwise its a LONG wait.
SPORTSMANSHIP: Sportsmanship is important. Remember that you represent High Springs BMX, on and off of the track. Others may not reciprocate but it doesn't relieve us of our responsibilities to LEAD THE WAY!
No matter what place, always congratulate your opponents at the end of the race!
They are trying to accomplish the same goals as you.
